Food Resources for Adults, Elderly or Disabled
Senior Meal Sites (Meal is served @ 12pm)- Lunchtime meals are available Monday-Friday at the following Senior Center: Afton, Charlottesville, Crozet, Esmont, Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson, Scottsville, Shipman, Standardsville, and Union Run. Meals on Wheels- Can deliver meals on temporary or long-term basis to at risk adults within the Albemarle, Charlottesville, and Western Albemarle area who are recovering from surgery, illness, or other conditions. For more information, call 434-293-4364
Home Delivered Meals- Can provide meals to adults 60+ who live within Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, Green, and Nelson, who are frail, elderly and homebound. Charge for this service varies with income. For more information, call 434-817-5260
Reaching Elderly and Challenged Household (REACH)- With help of volunteers, delivers USDA food once a month to qualifying seniors who are low-income, homebound, or have special needs. For more information, call 434-296-6636.

Additional Food Resources for Families with children
WIC- Woman, Infants, and Children- can provide formula, whole milk, cheese, cereal, and beans/lentils to women who are pregnant, infants, and children up to the age of 5. Contact the Health Department at (434) 972-6200.
Kids Café- provides nutritious snacks/meals to children during the school year. The café helps to alleviate hunger and poor nutrition. Children who are hungry or have poor nutrition, are sick more, tend to be tardy of absent from school, and affects overall school performance. For more information, call 434-293-4364.
Back Pack Program- America’s Second Harvest provides children with back packs filled with nutritious and easy to prepare meals to take home on weekends, holidays, or other occasions, when free or reduced-price school lunches are not available. For more details, call 434-296-3663.
